Cha Seung Won@chosen as "Black Collar Worker of 2011"
Actor-model Cha Seung Won has been honored with the title of 2011's "Black Collar Worker" in the 6th A-Awards, held by male fashion magazine Arena Homme Plus. "Black Collar Worker" is an annual title awarded to the most outstanding male figures of the year.
When asked how he feels about the award, Cha Seung Won replied, “It feels good, because of the many meanings of this award. It feels good not because I’m receiving an award, but because this award meant that I became a figure worth remembering this year. In short, this is a harvest.”
Five other prominent male figures who also received this year's "Black Collar Worker" title include Olympic swimmer Park Tae Hwan, rock singer Yoon Do Hyun, KAIST professor Jung Jae Seung, Mnet's "Superstar K" PD Kim Yong Bum and celebrity stylist Jung Yoon Ki.
The six winners will also be featured in a photo spread in the magazine's December edition, out on the shelves from November 21. Here, we shall reveal photos of Cha Seung Won, Park Tae Hwan and Yoon Do Hyun from their Arena Homme Plus photoshoot.
Joo Ji Hoon set off on his comeback after being released from his military duties.
On November 21, Joo was released from the Seoul Special Warfare Command. Even before his release, the area in front of the center was packed with about 500 local and overseas fans and 100 press members waiting for Joo.
Chinese and Japanese fans, along with the Korean fans, even brought in charter buses to wait for Joo’s release since 6 a.m., chanting “I love you, Joo Ji Hoon!”
Overseas fans even welcomed their star back with placards reading ‘Joo Ji Hoon I love you so much’, ‘I love Joo Ji Hoon’, ‘Are you nervous yet, world? Joo Ji Hoon’s back’ and ‘Actor Joo, let’s run’.

Joo continued, “I can’t believe I’ve been released yet, but I’m happy to see everyone. Now that I’ve become a civilian, I want to repay [the love you sent me] with my acting.”
When asked by the press whether Bae Yong Jun, who is from the same agency, came to see him, he answered, “Because I was just working full-time as a reserve, and I would get off from work [in the evenings], there was no reason for Bae Yong Jun to come visit.” Joo was enlisted as a reserve with regular working hours in February 2010.
On how Lee Jun Ki, who had starred with him in the military musical Voyage of Life, was doing, he said, “A couple of days ago I met him because we had to host an event together.”
He also didn’t forget to thank his fans.
He said the people he missed the most “are right here with [him],” and added, “Thanks to my fans I wasn’t lonely during the two years [I was enlisted].”
After his interview, Joo said goodbye to his fans and left in a car prepared by his agency.
Joo will be launching his official comeback in an exclusive event to be held on November 27 in Seoul, and recently confirmed that the musical Doctor Zhivago would be his comeback piece.
He first made his debut as a model, and with the 2006 MBC drama Princess Hours, started his career in acting. Later on he continued to star in pieces such as KBS2’s Devil and the films Antique and Kitchen, which made him a hallyu star.
Joo joined the army in February 2010 after being charged without detention for the use of drugs in April 2009.
Super Junior to make comeback with 5th album The comeback date for their 5th album is set for August 3rd and individual teaser images of the members’ will be released sequentially from the 20th, starting with Eunhyuk.
